Collaborative, project-based learning is at the center of the educational experience at The New School. The Collaboratory is a virtual space for sharing the collaborative and interdisciplinary projects of students, faculty and partners from diverse organizations and communities. These collaborative projects examine and test new approaches to creating a more just, resilient and equitable society.
We hope the site offers educators, students, civic activists, policy makers, culture makers and others new insights about socially engaged learning and fosters new opportunities for collaboration.
The Collaboratory will be a repository of projects across the The New School. It will profile Projects and the People (faculty, students and partners) engaged in them. In addition, it will periodically curate content of selected projects to provide deeper Perspectives on approaches to project-based learning, public scholarship and public engagement. This content will include work produced by faculty, students and partners in the form of essays, videos, podcasts, reports, articles and other approaches to creating public knowledge. In Resources you will find tools and frameworks useful to advancing socially engaged learning and public engagement.
We invite submissions of projects to post on the Collaboratory site. If you would like to submit a project you’re working on or have finished please fill out the form below.
